Hey, I love your blog! I notice that you and your girlfriend are/were long distance because you went to different universities or colleges or something like that? I was just wondering how hard it was, and if you had the choice again would you do the same, or would you rather have been closer?
Thanks! Yeah when we met I was still a senior in our high school in Pennsylvania and she was attending Arizona State University. This year she was still at ASU and I was up in Connecticut for school. Basically we only got to see each other during breaks or when she had long weekends to fly home, so we wouldn’t see each other for as long as 3 months at a time. It was definitely very hard, but I think it ultimately made us stronger in the end because we were forced to really trust each other fast and communicate with each other. So if I had the choice to go back and change things, I definitely would not. It was really hard, but we’re finally together and stronger than we ever have been and things are really perfect. Plus there’s nothing like that long awaited hug and kiss and butterfly feeling you get when her plane is about to land :)
I’m proud to say that today is the day this long distance relationship comes to an end.
Its been real, but I’m happy to never have to deal with these excessively long term goodbyes anymore. Sure there will be times that we’re a “long distance” apart, but it will never be out of our power to just go see one another because plane tickets are too expensive. And we will definitely NEVER be apart for months and months at a time again.
I love you so much Sophie and I’m SO happy this day is finally here. Can’t wait to see you baby! :)
